High and low life.

Love meeting new industry members and having chats about game development.  Its literally one of my fave things, hearing about these passionate artists projects and how they would do things in certain situations or their ways of doing testing etc.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of visiting a cool studio in Liverpool's Baltic Triangle area called Atomicom Limited.  Seeing some of their projects just made me want to actually be working on video games all the sooner.  Especially due to hearing the passion behind some of the devs there, from the artists to the programmers and directors.

However, after a year of constantly applying to places, getting to the 'final' decision of yes or no and getting no's I'm kinda getting fed up of the whole thing.  Except I don't really want to be working in anything but the games industry either.  Literally getting to the point where one more no may be it and the point I'm like fuck it.  Honestly wish I could just work on my own projects but with no startup or programs that are not 'student' versions I have no chance of that either.

Now I have to produce something I personally don't like in university also, a match-3 type game, which is one of those where I feel the market is so over-saturated there is hardly if any room to innovate or stand out from the crowd.  I'm also not against working on games like this for an actual wage, it would be the lowest point in my career mind you, but working on one while I'm paying for my own education is really off putting.

So whatever I make from this project, just know I started out hating the type of game I got asked to produce.  Thus if its good or bad, imagine how much better it would have been if I had a passion for this type of game.

Least I get to start a bar job next week.. yay.. because that's all i'm evidently good for.
